Product arrives frozen. Store in the freezer, defrost in the fridge and use within 3 days (safe to defrost, portion and refreeze). Thoroughly defrost before feeding as feeding frozen or semi-frozen food is not advised, especially for puppies. Food can be regurgitated if not fully thawed. You may need to leave it in a covered container on the bench for a short time to fully defrost.

We recommend rotating through at least 4 meat types plus our Vegetable + Fruit and Organ supplements. We only use human grade ingredients with absolutely no preservatives, fillers or synthetic nutrients. We congratulate you on your decision to make healthy changes to your dog’s diet. If you have any questions please contact us and our Nutrition Advisor will be happy to call you.
Commence your transition to The Butcher’s Dog by feeding the Turkey variety first, as this a mild meat. Feed this for the first few days. Next move on to the Puppy Love pack and lastly introduce the Beef and Veg.
Mix a portion of the vegetable supplement in at each meal. Start out with a tablespoon per meat disc.
Leave the Vegetable + Organ mix until last so that your dog's tummy has had time to adjust.
Organ meat can initially cause softer bowel motions. Feeding extra bone firms up soft poop. Some variance in your dog's poop is completely normal while their digestive system adjusts to their new diet. Don't panic. Poop volume will reduce, become less smelly and your dog may drink less water.
If your dog is reluctant to try their new raw food, they can be encouraged by flash frying it in a pan for 20 seconds. This releases yummy appealing smells and warms the food.
*Adored Beast Gut Soothe in the Apothecary section is a recommended supplement to ease diet transitions for dogs who have been eating a dry diet. It contains pre and probiotics and gut soothing ingredients such as Slippery Elm and Marshmallow root. Great for dogs prone to any digestive upsets. Mix a small amount into each meal, a little goes a long way.
A gradual transition across from a dry diet can help reduce tummy upsets. Mix the existing dry food together with The Butchers Dog food. Gradually, over the course of a week or so, decrease the dry and increase the fresh food.
A premium selection of poultry meal varieties for your dog.
